Ashtead Technology acquires Hiretech

Hiretech Limited has pledged its support to the Buy North-East campaign, which is encouraging businesses to buy local in the wake of the continuing oil downtown.
Like many other companies operating in the oil and gas sector, Hiretech has witnessed first-hand the detrimental effects of the recent economic slump across a variety of organisations within the sector’s supply chain and beyond.
As a result, Hiretech, a leading equipment rental, sales, service and maintenance company offering pumping spreads, powered umbilical reels, hydraulic power packs and supporting equipment, has welcomed the initiative and fully supports the movement to protect the local economy and employment in the region.
Hiretech’s Manging Director, Andy Buchan, comments: “We have built our business by forging good relationships with north-east based suppliers and estimate that approximately 90% of our current suppliers are local to our base at Fintray by Dyce. As a result, we benefit from readily available supplies and quick delivery times. Our local suppliers are willing to go the extra mile to source and deliver what we require when it is required, with no compromise in quality. This in turn allows us to deliver a responsive and efficient service to our client base. We want to continue our support for the people in the north-east and see no reason why we can’t extend our existing local supplier base further in support of this valuable campaign”.
The campaign is led by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council – as well as Aberdeen Journals and Scottish Enterprise.
All firms need to do to join the movement is pledge support by putting Buy North-East on their next board agenda, then moving at least one contract or piece of business to a local supplier.
